I came back from my vacation to find out I had won employee of the week last week. To which, Ryan informed the office to let me know that he thought I was a ‘bum.’

Tempted as I am to be angry, he’s right. I’ve been exhausted and apathetic the last month and a half. I haven’t been slacking off to the extent that things are falling behind, but, I haven’t exactly been taking initiative on anything.

But, I have just returned from the first vacation I’ve taken in a year, and I’m feeling much better. In the past, if I’ve taken vacation, it’s been because:

• Jamie had a doctor’s appointment
• I had a doctor’s appointment
• I couldn’t sleep the night before and slept through the day.

I’ve taken intermittent Mondays here and there, just so that I can take a little bit of a breather now and again. But, damn, a whole week of vacation was just what I needed to hit the ground running.
